When doing a rewrite, adaptation, or fix fic, what are some things to keep in mind when deciding what to keep, what to change, and what to leave out?
What's depleting you isn't the act of writing; it's the shame you feel about how and what you're writing.
Start with the story that's most often or most strongly on your mind, and stick with it until it's done.
You don't generate empathy with a bored character by boring the reader; you do it by humanizing the character and the experience of boredom.
Endings do need to bring at least the major story threads to a resting point, but they're primarily emotional experiences.
